Title:
FUEL INJECTOR OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2004239176
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To improve ignitability and combustion stability by forming an air-fuel mixture corresponding to a running condition without complicating the structure of a fuel injection valve.

The fuel injection valve 11 can inject fuel at different angles. In the vicinity of a nozzle of the injection valve 11, there is provided a spray guide wall 13 formed in an almost cylindrical shape developing toward a combustion chamber 4. The compact and combustible air-fuel mixture is formed near an ignition plug 12 with an ECU 14 using a Coanda effect between a fuel spray and the spray guide wall 13, by enlarging a spray angle at low load in a layered combustion mode. On the contrary, at high load in a layered combustion mode, much fuel is injected so that a near-stoichiometric air-fuel mixture is formed over a comparatively wide range in the combustion chamber 4 using a piston bowl 3a by lessening the injection angle so as not to cause the Coanda effect.
