Title:
FUEL INJECTOR WITH SPRING-ENERGIZED CONTROL VALVE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3707841
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the change of a harmful emission material property with time by providing a fuel pump with a control valve for controlling the start timing and stop timing of a fuel injection cycle when the change of a harmful emission material is automatically compensated for by changing a fuel injection timing.
SOLUTION: A control valve 26 is incorporated together with a pump assembly and a nozzle valve in the fuel injector body of a fuel injection system. This control valve 26 has an armature 118 provided in a recess in a valve body to be reciprocated between first and second positions, and this armature 118 is energized downward by a first spring 124. Also, the armature 118 is energized upward by a second spring 130 having a different spring characteristic so as to change the start timing of a fuel injection cycle with time. When the armature 118 is located in the first position, fluids are caused to flow, and when it is in the second position, a valve member 120 is connected to prevent the flow of fluids.
