The power generation system 100 comprises a fuel preconditioner 20 for reforming fuel into at least one preconditioned fuel, a pulse explosion combustor 10, and a turbine 30. The pulse explosion combustor receives the preconditioned fuel and a main oxidizing reagent, explodes a mixture containing the reconditioned fuel and the main oxidizing reagent and exhausts a number of explosive products. The turbine is arranged on the downstream side of the pulse explosion combustor in flow communication with the pulse explosion combustor. The power generation plant 300 comprises at least one fuel preconditioner 20 and the number of power generation systems. Each power generation system includes the pulse explosion combustor 10 and the turbine 30 arranged on the downstream side of the pulse explosion combustor 10 in flow communication with the pulse explosion combustor.
