To provide a starting method for a fuel production device, with which a starting operation can be performed in a short period of time, and further, the ratio of an impurity gas included in a reformed gas can be reduced.
The starting method for a fuel production device is used for a reformed gas production device provided with: a first starting burner warming-up a reformer 2; a second starting burner warming-up a combustion treatment apparatus 21; and one feeder feeding fuel for starting to the first starting burner and the second starting burner. The method includes: a first process where fuel for starting is fed from a feeder so as to start the first starting burner and the second starting burner; a second process where the feed of the fuel for starting from the feeder is stopped; a third process where the feed of the fuel for starting from the feeder is re-started; and a fourth process where the feed of the fuel for staring from the feeder is stopped, and further, hydrocarbon-based raw fuel is fed to the reformer 23.
