This fuel pump includes a shaft 17, a core 21 fixed on the shaft 17, the armature having a coil 29 wound around the core 21, and a pump portion which is rotatingly driven by the shaft 17. A guide 34 which guides the coil 29 more outward than an outer-periphery surface of the shaft 17 is provided at least on one edge portion of the core 21. In winding the coil 29 among facing slots, the coil is guided by the guide 34 to bypass a portion around the shaft 17 for winding.
