Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a fuel reformer lightweight and compact, to decrease the CO concn. in the reformed gas (to several ppm), to make the reformer structure suitable to mass production, to effectively utilize the waste heat by heat transfer and to diminish the heat loss.
SOLUTION: The liq. material heating part 1, vaporization part 2, vapor superheating part 3, reforming part 4, shifting part 4a, CO oxidizing part 5, catalytic combustion part 6 and heat recovery part 7 constituting a fuel reformer are formed with a flat plate contg. a heat-transfer fin, put on one another and integrated. A temp. distribution is established along the laying direction so that the temp. of the flat plate elements are kept respectively at a temp. suitable to reforming, combustion, vaporization, shifting and CO oxidation.
