To obtain reformed gas from an alcohol-containing fuel obtained by the partial addition of an alcoholic component to a hydrocarbon-based fuel, while extremely easily separating the alcohol and the hydrocarbon-based fuel with a compact system.
Water supplied from a reservoir tank 1 with a water pump 2 is stirred and mixed in a mixing tank 5 with an alcohol-containing fuel obtained by the partial addition of an alcoholic component to a hydrocarbon-based fuel supplied from a fuel tank 3 with a fuel pump 4. The hydrocarbon-based fuel is separated to the upper part 5a of the mixing tank and a mixture of alcohol and water is separated to the lower part 5b of the mixing tank by this process, the hydrocarbon-based fuel is extracted through a hydrocarbon-based fuel tube 6, and the mixed fluid is discharged through a mixed fluid tube 7 and supplied to a reformer 8. The mixed fluid is reformed with steam in the reformer 8 and the obtained reformed gas is stored in a reformed gas accumulator 9.
