To provide a fuel-reforming apparatus performing steam reforming which dispenses with an operation of exchanging a poisoned reforming catalyst and can easily renew the catalytic activity of the deteriorated reforming catalyst.
This fuel-reforming apparatus generating a hydrogen-enriched reformed gas is equipped with a reforming unit 1 provided with a reforming catalyst 1a for the steam reforming of both water and hydrocarbons as raw materials, a heating jig 2 for heating the reforming unit and a raw material feeding unit 3 for feeding the raw materials to the reforming unit. The catalytic activity of the reforming catalyst is renewed by heating the reforming catalyst in a reducible atmosphere during an arbitrary time zone except a usual startup operation, a stop operation or a usual running operation.
