Abstract:
To provide a fuel reforming system capable of continuing reforming of fuel regardless of a state of an internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: A fuel reforming system 1 includes: a reformer 3 that reforms fuel mainly composed of hydrocarbon and when an air-fuel mixture is supplied from an inlet, causes oxidation reforming to progress under action of a reforming catalyst and discharges reformed fuel from an outlet; a condenser 74 for condensing the reformed fuel discharged from the outlet of the reformer 3; a gas-liquid separator 75 for separating the reformed fuel that has passed through the condenser 74 into a gas phase and a condensation phase; a reformed fuel tank 72 for storing the condensation phase flowing out from a condensation phase outflow section 751 of the gas-liquid separator 75; a first bypass pipe 92 for connecting a gas phase outflow section 752 of the gas-liquid separator 75 with an intake system of an engine; a second bypass pipe 93 for connecting the gas phase outflow section 752 with an air supply pipe 41 leading to the inlet of the reformer 3; and a three-way valve 94 and an ECU 8 for selectively communicating any of the first bypass pipe 92 and the second bypass pipe 93 in accordance with the state of the engine.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
