Title:
FUEL STORAGE DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2002030983
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a fuel storage device capable of preventing error determination about the presence or absence of fuel leakage from a fuel chamber of a fuel tank into an air chamber.

The fuel tank 40 is provided, which is divided into the fuel chamber 44 and the air chamber 46 by a bladder film 42. A vapor concentration correcting coefficient FGPG at fuel injection time TAU is calculated on the basis of changes in an air/fuel ratio if gas in the air chamber 46 is purged toward an intake passage 50 of an internal combustion engine, with keeping an engine speed NE and intake air amount Ga of the internal combustion engine 20 at a constant value. The presence or absence of fuel leakage from the fuel chamber 44 into the air chamber is determined on the basis of the vapor concentration correcting coefficient FGPG. By the above-mentioned determining method, when the fuel leakage is detected, the air/fuel ratio is not changed due to a transition state of the internal combustion engine 20, and the vapor concentration correcting coefficient FGPG is made to have a suitable value according to vapor concentration in the air chamber. Therefore, the error determination about the presence or absence of the fuel leakage from the fuel chamber 44 into the air chamber is prevented.
