Abstract:
To provide a fuel supply pump having a small relief valve mechanism which reduces the number of occurrences of transient pressure rise and achieves low costs.SOLUTION: A fuel supply pump includes: a discharge passage which discharges a fuel compressed in a compression chamber; a relief passage connecting the discharge passage with the compression chamber or a lower pressure chamber; a relief valve which opens or closes a passage of the relief passage; and a relief valve holder which is disposed along a center axis extending in an axial direction and holds the relief valve. The relief valve holder has a movement restriction part which restricts movement of the relief valve in a valve closing direction after the relief valve opens.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
