PURPOSE: To measure the flow rate of fuel accurately by mounting a fuel measuring device between a fuel tank and a fuel press feeder, connecting a return pipe between the measuring device and the fuel press feeder, and maintaining the fuel pressure in the pipe with a pressure regulator.
CONSTITUTION: The fuel in a fuel tank 21 is removed of pulsation with a damper 24, and after the fuel is removed of dust and oil scum with a filter 25, the fuel is fed under pressure into a pressure regulator 26. Thereafter, the fuel is injected through injection nozzles 28 into a suction pipe or the combustion chamber of an engine. Part thereof is returned through a return pipe 29 into a fuel pump 23. In this stage, the fuel pressure is going to drop sharply in the pipe 29, but the pipe 2 is connected to the pump 23 through a pressure regulator 30; therefore, the sharp drop of the fuel pressure in the pipe 29 is obviated.
