Abstract:
PURPOSE: To maintain gas communication between the inside and outside of a fuel tank for an internal combustion engine and prevent fuel leak from the tank, by providing the inside surface of the cap of the tank with a thin film through which gas passes but liquid hardly does.
CONSTITUTION: A thin film 20 of polypropylene is pinched between rings 22, 23 of acetal resin or the like on the inside surface of a cap 1. A porous plate 26 having an air chamber is provided under the film 20 to prevent fuel from coming into contact with the polypropylene film 20 because of jolting or the like. Since gas passes through the thin film 20 but luquid hardly passes through it, the purposes are attained. The structure of the cap can be simplified.
