Title:
FUKUSUNO SENOYORIAWASETENARU RITSUTSUWAIYA OYOBI SONOSEIZOHOHO
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5118873
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
1502456 Electric cables PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd 20 June 1975 [27 June 1974] 26312/75 Heading H1A A stranded cable comprises a plurality of wires (e.g. 3-8) twisted around a central core (e.g. 1) having an adhesive coating comprising a plastics material, the thickness of the coatings being such that there are interstices between the wires and within an outer sheath 9. The core 1 and wires 3-8 are preferably of 160 Ám. Cu wire and wires 3-8 may be tin plated. The plastics adhesive material 2 may be selected from polyamide, polyvinyl butyral, epoxy resin and phenoxy resin, which soften in the range 80-200‹ C. The adhesive may be applied in an organic solvent of which a number are disclosed. An insulating sheath 9 of PVC or polyethylene is extruded over the wires and if the heat of extrusion is sufficient to melt the adhesive, the wires will be adhered to the core throughout their length. Alternatively adhesion may be prevented by plunging the cable, immediately after extrusion of the sheath, into cold water. Localized bonding of the wires to the core may then be effected by an induction field or localized heating.
