PURPOSE: To automatically treat mixed different types of specimen vessels by detecting the type of a vessel on a transfer line leading to an automatic centrifuging position, and carrying each type of vessels on a line dedicated thereto after the finish of a centrifugal process.

CONSTITUTION: A vessel detecting device 28 before the start of a centrifuging process reads out the rack recognition ID and type recognition ID of racks 2A and 2B to erect and hold specimen vessels 1A and 1B at a centrifugal set position (a), and sends both IDs to a control device 80. The racks 2A and 2B grouped by vessel or rack type are respectively carried through a process 25 to lines 41A and 41B dedicated to each type of the vessel and rack. Then, the rubber plugs of the vessels 1A and 1B are removed at processing 50A and 50B at unplugging positions (d) and (d'), and sequentially sent to every inspection and dispensing position (e) of a dispensing and a transverse feed belt device 43 for dispensing through a longitudinal belt device 42. Also, the control device 80 collates the rack and type IDs read via detecting device 28 and 46 with magazine IDs read via magazine readers 121 and 131 and, then, the specimen is sucked and dispensed.
