PURPOSE: To prevent bubbles from overflowing the upper parts of an internal tank and an external tank during the stirring of clothes in a rinsing process.

CONSTITUTION: The internal tank 1 wherein a separator 2 is arranged rotatably at its center bottom part is included in the external tank 7, a drain hose 15 which communicates with the outside of the machine through a drain valve 12 placed at the lower part of the external tank 7 is attached, and a pipe 14 which communicates with a hole 13 bored in the upper part of the external tank 7 is connected to the drain hose 15. The washing machine is equipped with a driving mechanism part 11 which drives the separator 2 or internal tank 1 selectively with the driving force of a motor 10 and the driving mechanism part 11 rotates the internal tank 1 in one direction in a drying process and brakes the rotation of the internal tank 1 in a rinsing process; and the external tank 7 is provided with a projection part 23 which extends toward the center of the internal tank 1 on the rotational direction side of the internal tank 1 at an opening part 24 above the hole 13.
