Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a full light type time division light pulse sepn. circuit and full light time division light pulse multiplexion circuit which are stable and are ultra high in speed as an optical fiber communication system with which the complete removal of jitters intrinsically possessed by a signal light pulse train is difficult.
CONSTITUTION: Two light pulses having different central wavelengths are used as control light beams 1, 2. The wavelengths of the signal light pulse and the two control light pulses are so set that one of the two control light pulses propagates in an optical Kerr medium faster than the signal light pulse and the other slower and that the sizes of the work off of the respective control light pulse with the signal light pulse are exactly equaled. In addition, the control light pulse slower (faster) in the propagation speed than the signal light pulse at the incident end of the optical Kerr medium is arranged before (behind) the signal light on a time axis so as to make the synthesized phase shift quantity, i.e., switching efficiency constant.
