Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a full-water holding device for a horizontal pump which performs quick response operation during a rainfall period.
SOLUTION: In this horizontal pump wherein an opening part 3a is formed on an upper part of a pump 3, a priming detector 12 and an intake valve 14 are mounted on a basic end part of an intake pipe 11 connected to the opening part 3a, the intake pipe 11 is connected to vacuum pumps 19, 20, 21 through a receiver tank 13 to keep the full-water condition of the horizontal pump 1 in standby for operation, a three-way switch valve 17 is mounted on a suction pipe 16 for switching the communication with atmospheric air, the other end of the suction pipe 16 is branched to be respectively connected to root pumps 19, 20, 21 of different capacities, and a drain valve 23 for draining is mounted on the receiver tank 13. The full-water condition of the horizontal pump 1 is recovered and kept by switching the three-way switch valve 17, whereby the closed operation of the roots pumps 19, 20, 21 is available, and the mixed water in the receiver tank 13 is discharged.
