Abstract:
To evaluate an eating/swallowing function even in a bedside and home medical care without a risk such as radiation exposure, and improve the evaluation of the eating/swallowing function by knowing any movement of any portion in the eating/swallowing with less swallowing frequency, and any muscle being coordinately moved by any activity, timing and time in any stage of the eating/swallowing.SOLUTION: An eating/swallowing function evaluation method includes: an elevation starting point identification step of identifying an elevation starting point of a hyoid bone from a feature value of a laryngeal behavior signal; and an evaluation step of evaluating an eating/swallowing function in which the elevation starting point is made a starting point of the swallowing reflection being non-voluntary motion, and is made to conform to a feature value of a hyoid bone upper muscle group biological signal and a time series change of the feature value of the hyoid bone lower reinforcement group biological signal, and thereby a stage from at least swallowing start to completion is identified, and also the combination of relative activity of each muscle in the coordinated movement of various swallowing vessels corresponding to the stage is caught along with the size of the activity and timing, and the time change/condition change of the time.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
