To provide a function limit release system of an electronic device, capable of confirming candidate function parts that can be selected as a function limit release object and selecting the function part of the function limit release object before receiving a release code, a function limit release method, and the electronic device.
A portable terminal 110 transmits registration information including a MAC address acquired from a compound machine 11 to a server 100. In the server 100, authentication processing of the compound machine 11 is performed. Thereafter, on the basis of data transmitted from the server 100, an additional function selection screen is displayed at the portable terminal 110. A user operates the portable terminal 110 to select an additional function and perform transmission of additional function selection information and payment processing to the server 100 (Fig. (10)). A release code is transmitted from the server 100 to the portable terminal 110 (Fig. (11)). The release code received by the portable terminal 110 is transmitted to the compound machine 11 (Fig. (12)). The compound machine 11 releases the function limit of a corresponding function part on the basis of the release code.
