PURPOSE: To obtain the subject compd. having fungicidal activity against a wide variety of diseases of plants, especially diseases caused by fungi.
CONSTITUTION: This compd. is expressed by formula I, wherein A, B are H, F, Cl, 1 to 4C alkyl, etc., but both of A and B are not H at one time; D, E are H, F; R1, R2 are 1 to 4C alkyl, (halogen substd.) 3 to 6C alkenyl, 1 to 4C alkoxy, etc.; R4 is cyclobutyl, cyclopentyl, etc.; X, Y are 0. The compd. is, for example, 2-chloro-4-(1-methyl-cyclobutanecarboxyamide)-N,N- dimethylbenzamide. The compd. is obtd., for example, by allowing a compd. expressed by formula II to react with R4COCl in a solvent such as methylene dichloride and toluene in the presence of a base such as tertiary amine (e.g. triethylamine).
