PURPOSE: To fungicide for agriculture and gardening especially effective against powdery mildew, having no phytotoxicity such as chlorosis of leaf vein, chlorosis of chlorophyll, etc. to plants and very low toxicity to men and beasts, containing a β-benzoylacrylic acid ester as an active ingredient.
CONSTITUTION: A fungicide for agriculture and gardening containing a β.benzoylacrylic acid ester shown by the formula (X is H, 1W6C alkyl, 1W6C alkoxy, halogen, or nitro; m is 1W5; R is 1W6C alkyl) as an active ingredient. In the case of powdery mildew, preventive application before germination or application in the stage of blight as early as possible is especially effective. The application is preferably carried out seven days apart. The application concentration is ≥50ppm, especially 100W500ppm. Also effective against blast, anthracnose, etc.
