Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an fungistatic and mite-proofing synthetic fiber that is excellent in fungistatic and deodorant effects as well as mite-proofing effect without reduction of these actions even when these fibers are mixed with other natural fibers or synthetic fibers and shows high heat resistance and is suitably useful for wadding.
SOLUTION: Synthetic fibers are treated with a treatment agent comprising a quaternary ammonium salt of the formula: [R1R2N(Me)2]X (R1 is a 5-16C alkyl group, R2 is a 5-16C alkyl group or benzyl group, X is a gegen anion) and a cationic surfactant at a weight ratio of 50/50-95/5 in an amount of 0.1-1.5 wt.% based on the fiber weight.
