Title:
FUNNEL FOR DISTRIBUTING MOLTEN ALUMINUM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3194418
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the quality of a casting while reducing the investment in an equipment by arranging a supplying means of inert gas near the boundary part between a molten metal storing part and a molten metal distributing part.
SOLUTION: Molten aluminum is transferred from a ladle to a holding furnace in a casting machine by using a funnel 1. The molten metal poured into the molten metal storing part 4 in the funnel 1 from the ladle is stored. The one end part of the molten metal distributing part 5 is opened at the bottom part of the molten metal storing part 4. The supplying means 7 for inert gas is arranged at the boundary part between the molten metal storing part 4 and the molten metal distributing part 5 or into the molten metal distribution part 5 at downstream side from the boundary part. The supplying means 7 is constituted with a porous plug and gaseous argon is blown. By this constitution, gaseous H2 content in the molten metal at the time of pouring into a mold can be restrained to extremely low level.
