To provide a mixing/calcining furnace wherein CO2 gas, which is generated in a facility for producing cement, can be separated and collected at a high concentration through smooth fluidization or spouting, even in the case where the particle diameter of a heat medium is larger than the particle diameter of a cement material.
The mixing/calcining furnace is used for recovering the CO2 gas n, which is generated in the facility for producing cement, by pre-heating the cement material in a pre-heater and subsequently feeding the same to and firing the same in a cement kiln 1 wherein a high-temperature atmosphere is retained. The uncalcined cement material discharged from the pre-heater and the heat medium heated to a calcination temperature or above in a medium-heating furnace are fed to and mixed and calcined in the mixing/calcining furnace, thereby generating the CO2 gas. The mixing/calcining furnace is equipped with a feed line 20 for feeding from the top the heat medium t having a larger particle diameter than that of the cement material and a discharge line 25 for discharging the heat medium t from the bottom, thereby forming a transfer layer 26 wherein the heat medium t is transferred from the top to the bottom.
