Abstract:

To provide a furniture designing system making it possible to estimate the amount of volatile organic compounds (VOC) generated during the stage of designing furniture.

A processing terminal device 3 has a member database 6 in which the amount of VOC generated is retained for each member used with furniture; an adhesive database 7 in which the amount of VOC generated is retained for each adhesive used with the furniture; and a furniture standard database 8 in which data about a plurality of standard types of furniture are retained. The processing terminal device 3 designs furniture using furniture design software 11 and the furniture standard database 8; displays the three-dimensional image data of the designed furniture using three-dimensional display software 12; uses adhesive VOC software 14 to integrate the amounts of VOC generated from the adhesives used with the furniture; and uses VOC integration software 13 to integrate the amounts of VOC generated for the members used with the furniture, thereby simulating the amounts of VOC generated from the entire furniture.
