Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a furniture system for use in an office that can contribute to improved productivity of intellectual work with balanced closedness and openness as well as excellent power supply features.SOLUTION: A furniture system comprises a chair unit 6 and a power supply unit 15. The chair unit 6 includes a seat 1 and a back rest 2, which are enclosed by left and right side panels 3, 4 and a back panel 5. A person seated therein is hidden by the side panel 3 and the back panel 5, thus closedness is ensured. At the same time, openness is also ensured in that the seated person faces a room space so that it is easy for the seated person to communicate with other people. As the power supply unit 15 is located at a backside corner 14 of the chair unit 6, power can be supplied to devices used on a table top 7 without causing cluttering of cables. It is also possible to share a single power supply unit 15 between two furniture systems arranged back to back.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
