Title:
PRODUCTION OF ELECTROLYTE AND NITROGEN TRIFLUORIDE GAS USING THE ELECTROLYTE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3162594
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce the dissolving quantity of an Ni electrode and to efficiently produce high purity NF3 gas by using NH4F-HF base fused salt containing a specific quantity of Li and a specific mol ratio as a electrolyte and electrolyzing while using Ni as the anode.
CONSTITUTION: The NH4F-HF base fused salt is incorporated into an electrolytic cell body 1 as the electrolyte 8 and a partition wall 5 for partitioning the electrolyte 8 so as to be communicatable at the bottom part, is arranged at a cell cover 2. The Ni anode 3 in a partitioned anode chamber and a cathode 4 of Fe, etc., in a cathode chamber are arranged. In this condition, NF3 gas from an anodic gas discharging hole 6 and H2 gas from a cathodic gas discharging hole 7 are obtd. by electrolyzing the electrolyte 8. At this time, the composition mol ratio HF/NH4F in the fused salt of the electrolyte 8 is made to be 1-3 and also, ≥0.01mol% Li is contained in this electrolyte. Further, it is desirable to electrolyze under condition of 100-140°C electrolyzing temp. and about 1-30Adm-2 current density.
