To provide a furniture post allowing a simple method to prevent liquid, particularly water, from remaining in the area of a guide bush.

The furniture post has an upright pipe 1 and a guide bush 9 an end of which is inserted in the upright pipe 1, with the inner peripheral surface of the guide bush guiding a support pipe 7. The guide bush 9 has a guide pipe 8 radially inside of it, with the inner space of the guide pipe forming a guide. An insert-ring area 10 extends radially outward within the end area of the guide pipe 8, with the outer peripheral surface of the insert-ring area inserted into the upright pipe 1. A plurality of webs 14 circumferentially spaced apart are connected in the axial direction to the insert-ring area, with the radially outward end face of each web abutting the inner wall of the upright pipe. A chamber 11 open on its side opposite to the insert-ring area is formed between the webs 14. The upright pipe 1 has a colored layer completely covering its outer peripheral surface. A continuous opening 12 is in communication with the interior of the guide pipe 8 from the chamber 11 through the guide pipe 8.
