Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a topped furniture item with suppressed increase in cost and weight that exerts a big braking force so as to be prevented from moving in use, while easily releasing restriction of movement when moved.SOLUTION: A furniture item with a top board comprises: casters 26 and 27 that are provided at front and rear ends of a base part 21 of a supporting leg 20; a front stopper member 51 that is fixed to the front end of the base part 21 in contact with a floor surface F; a rear stopper member 52 that is provided at the rear end of the base part 21 and can come in contact with the floor surface F; and a driving mechanism that advances and retracts the rear stopper member 52 to come in and out of contact with the floor surface F. By allowing the rear stopper 52 to retract above the caster 27 so as to come out of contact with the floor surface F, the base part 21 is inclined such that the rear end is lower than the front end, the casters 26 and 27 come in contact with the floor surface F, and the front stopper member 51 comes upward out of contact with the floor surface F.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11
