To provide a piece of furniture with a top plate having a wire receiver on the undersurface of the top plate and having a wire passing slit above the wire receiver to communicate with the upper and lower parts of the top plate so that the opening area of the top plate is made small to secure strength of the top plate and to make it possible to access the wire receiver easily.
A table T1 being the furniture with the top plate having a wire receiver 3 on the undersurface of the top plate 1 includes a wire passing slit 1s that communicates with the upper and lower parts of the top plate 1 to separate the opening rim from the peripheral rim of the top plate 1, a window 1w which communicates with the wire passing slit 1s above the wire receiver 3 and the width dimension d2 is smaller than the longitudinal dimension d1 of the wire passing slit, and a lid 5 that can change between the closed condition of the window 1w and the open condition communicating with the upper and lower parts of the window 1w.
