Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a piece of furniture, which has no danger of falling down by an impulse caused by an earthquake, etc., can be structured into the one having a height up to a ceiling even when it is a thin shelf, and can be also used as a partition by linking plural shelves into either an L shape or a U shape using a linking member having an L-shaped section and fixing the linked shelves.

CONSTITUTION: A linking member 20 has the L-shaped section, many holes for inserting bolts into them are provided for the linking member 20, and the linking member 20, a book shelf 11, and shelf 12 are fixed with bolts and nuts. The linking member 20 is fixed to side 11a of the shelf 11 and side 12a of the shelf 12 with a bolt 21 and a nut 22 through a washer 29 and a cushioning material 28. Plural linking members respectively having shorter L-shaped sections can be also used. This type of linking member 30 has the L-shaped section, and the member 30 also has four recessed parts 30a on its outer circumference. Screws 31 are inserted into the recessed parts 30a, the linking member 30 is pressed with the heads of the screws, and the side 11a of the shelf 11 and the side 12a of the shelf 12 are fixed.
