PURPOSE: To facilitate the replacement of a fuse by arranging a starter motor and a battery box on the side surface of an engine on which a recoil starting mechanism has been arranged, and also arranging a fuse box on the outside of a starter case in the portion surrounded by the above motor, battery box, and the recoil starting mechanism.

CONSTITUTION: In an inclined cylinder type air-cooled engine, a starter motor 2 for an electric starting mechanism, and a battery box 1 for supplying the driving power of the starter motor 2 are arranged in the portion of a recoil starting mechanism 3 being arranged on the side thereof. In the recessed part surrounded by the recoil starting mechanism 3, the starter motor 2, and the battery box 1, and in the portion of a starter case 9 for covering the part of the recoil starting mechanism 3, a fuse box 5 is arranged. The fuse box 5 comprises a box cover 5a, a fuse 5b, and a fuse box body 5c, and the fuse box body 5c is screwed and fixed into the starter case 9. Thus, the replacement of the fuse 5b can be easily carried out without removing the starter case 9.
