Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To heat a resin uniformly by preventing the concentration of heat and to improve fusion quality by a method in which after a resistance heating element being heated to the melting temperature of a resin, a cooling-off period is given by interrupting the current temporarily or by lowering power supply remarkably.
SOLUTION: When a fusion work start signal is sent to CPU by turning on a start switch, the passage of the current is started with voltage read in advance. By the energization, a heating wire is heated, and when the temperature reaches the melting temperature of a resin, which was read previously, the current is interrupted for a time set in advance. After the passage of the cooling-off period, in which the current was turned off, the energization is reopened with the initial voltage. Fusion is controlled by a method in which the voltage is adjusted so that the temperature of the heating wire is kept as high as possible within a proper fusion temperature range for a time set previously, and the resin on the fusion interfaces on both sides of an EF joint 1 and a PE pipe 2.
