PURPOSE: To provide an aircraft aircrew life support system.
CONSTITUTION: Inflation pressure of a G-suit is set by a servo-pressure which respectively controls movement of an inflation gas supply valve 126 and a valve 127. The servo-pressure is regulated by torque motor controlled valves 124, 125 which receive a servo-demand signal from an ECU 123. The ECU 123 receives an inflation pressure demand signal PDEM from an aircraft systems computer 120 which stores schedules of G-suit inflation pressure against increasing acceleration and decreasing cabin ambient pressure. The computer is programmed to look up and output a maximum value for inflation pressure dependent upon values of acceleration signals and cabin ambient pressure signals from sensors 121, 122. The ECU 123 compares an existing G-suit inflation pressure signal with the inflation pressure demand signal PDEM to issue a compensated error signal which is combined with the inflation pressure demand signal PDEM so as to form the servo-demand signal.
