PURPOSE: To reduce the foundation area of a machine tool, by providing, above the machine tool, a storing device provided with a plurality of gang heads and a gang head replacing device.
CONSTITUTION: In order to replace any one of gang heads 10 in a stroring device B side with any one of gang heads 3 in a machine tool A side, the last- mentioned one of the gang heads 3 is indexed to the rear position and a space 13 in the storing device B side is indexed to the rear position thereof. Then, a replacing device C is operated. That is, the above-mentioned one of them is delivered to a lift bed 16 which is brought to the lower position thereof, and then is brought to the upper position where the one is pushed to the spacer side for engaging it thereto. By repeating the above-mentioned steps, the gang heads 3, 10 may be replaced.
