To provide a lift actuator for a medical bed constituted so as to easily perform the adjustment of a gap and simply eliminating the backlashing of the lift actuator.
This gap adjusting device 1 is constituted so that a rectangular plate-shaped fixing member 2 and a movable member 3 are united in a surface matching state through a locking part, both of the surfaces of the members 2 and 3 are formed in a state inclined at a predetermined angle, a fixing expansion part 4 is provided to one end part of the fixing member 2 while wall parts 6 having protrusions 8 provided to the tip parts thereof are provided to both side surfaces of the fixing member 2, wall parts having taper surfaces provided thereto on the base part sides thereof are formed to both side surfaces of the movable member 3, the movable member 3 is mounted on the insides of the wall parts 6 of the fixing member 2 and the protrusions 8 of the tip parts come into contact with the taper surfaces to keep the united state. The lift actuator is constituted so as to successively house a plurality of columns different in diameter in a concentric state to expand and contract them and the gap adjusting device 1 is interposed between the housed columns to adjust the gap to eliminate mutual backlashing.
