This garbage can 1 comprises the can body 10 having the upper side opening part on the upper side and the upper cover 4 covering the upper side opening part thereof. The garbage can body 10 comprises an outer box body 3 forming an outer shell portion and an inner box body 2 installed in the outer box body 3. The garbage bag 5 is installed in the inner box body 2, and the excess end part 5a of the garbage bag 5 folded back along the upper end edge of the inner box body 2 is inserted into an insert clearance 11 formed between the outer box body 3 and the inner box body 2. Also, the upper cover 4 comprises an insert part 42 inserted into the insert clearance 11 to retain the excess end part 5a of the garbage bag 5.
