To provide a new garbage disposal apparatus in an agitation vessel of which an object to be agitated is moved by a vibration and the rotation of a rotary blade, thereby so great force is not imposed on the rotary blade.
This garbage disposal apparatus is provided with: the agitation vessel 6 for agitating the object to be agitated the inner bottom surface of which is formed into a semi-cylindrical shape at least; and a vibration imparting means 7 and the rotary blade 8 which are arranged in the agitation vessel for moving the object to be agitated along the circular-arc direction of the inner bottom surface. The object to be agitated is moved along the circular-arc direction of the inner bottom surface of the agitation vessel by vibrating the agitation vessel and rotating the rotary blade, so that great force is not imposed on the rotary blade. Even when a fixed space is left between the outer edge of the rotary blade and the inner wall of the agitation vessel, a knife or a spoon is effectively prevented from being caught in the fixed space even if the knife or the spoon is mixed in garbage as foreign matter since the moving force is transmitted to the object to be agitated.
