To provide a garbage disposer capable of reducing loads in agitation and surely discharging garbage inside a treatment vessel in a short period of time.

The garbage disposer comprises a disposer body 10 with the treatment vessel 21; a cover 11 for closing a feed port 16 to the treatment vessel 21; and an agitation member 41 for agitating the garbage inside the treatment vessel 21, and the garbage disposer has an openable and closable discharge port 33 provided on the outer peripheral part of the treatment vessel 21 so as to discharge the treated garbage inside the treatment vessel 21 from the discharge port 33. In the garbage disposer, a discharge member 58 is provided which is different from the agitation member 41, which maintains an immobile state when executing agitation treatment with the discharge port 33 closed, and which moves when executing discharge treatment with the discharge port 33 opened.
