To provide a garbage disposer wherein the power consumption at the drying time is reduced and the cooling time is shortened in a process of cooling garbage after drying, to reduce the power consumption at the cooling time.
Provided is the garbage disposer, which includes a switching valve 7 for switching a passage to a heat exchanger and a drying completion detecting means 21 for detecting that garbage has been dried, and shifts to a cooling process for cooling the garbage after the drying completion detecting means 21 detects drying of the garbage, wherein the switching valve 7 is switched during the cooling process, so that circulation air circulates through a garbage processing tank without through a heat exchanger, thereby the power consumption at the drying time and the subsequent cooling time is reduced.
