To provide a garbage receptacle for a sink drain port, which allows the user to dispose garbage in the receptacle by holding a lug portion arranged at a location that is proof against formation of slime produceable by drain water, without placing the fingers into the garbage.

The garbage receptacle 1 is formed of a cup-shaped or cylindrical container portion 2 which is insertable into the sink drain port 10 and has an upper opening. The container portion has a number of through holes 3 formed therein, for draining water content in the container portion, a collar portion 5 formed along an upper opening edge 4 thereof and having a diameter larger than that of an opening of the sink drain port, and a lug member 8 extending upward from an upper surface of a bottom 6 thereof. Then an upper edge of the lug portion of the lug member is arranged at a vertical location that is the same or lower than an upper surface of the collar portion.
