This garbage treating device 10 has the container 12 which has an aperture 52 commonly used as a feeding port for garbage, or the like, and a recovering port for the contents, a pedestal 14 which freely rotatably supports the container 12, a lid member 58 which closes the aperture 52, an agitating shaft 26 which is freely rotatably arranged within the container 12, a motor 34 which rotates the agitating shaft 26 and a heater 50. In such a case, rails for rotating the container are formed on the surface of the container 12 and the pedestal 14 is provided with freely rotatable rollers 7a, 70c, or the like, which fit to these rails for rotating the container. The garbage treating device is so constituted that the height position of the aperture 52 is changed by rotating the container 12 along the rails for rotating the container.
