PURPOSE: To execute a hygienic and simple garbage treatment by easily separating living water, garbage, etc., with simple members, obviating the intrusion of the crushed matter of the garbage into general waste water and reducing the size of waste water treating facilities where garbage slurries are stocked.

CONSTITUTION: This garbage treating machine has a cap member in a charge port 17 for charging the garbage, etc., into its garbage treating section. This cap member has a water passage plate 9 provided with through-holes 10 through which washing water flow and an opening/closing plate 11 which is held at this water passage plate 9 freely attachably and detachably to and from this plate. This opening/closing plate 11 is provided with a permanent magnet and an electromagnet repulsing from the permanent magnet on the inner peripheral side of the charge port 17. A holding rod 12 is erected in the opening/closing plate 11 and is freely slidably inserted into the insertion hole formed at the water passage hole 9. This holding rod 12 is provided with a stopper 13.
