To provide an inexpensive garbage treatment apparatus, in which the waste water to be discharged as sewage is not made dirty by a crushed material of garbage and exhaust gas from a drying chamber is satisfactorily discharged.
This garbage treatment apparatus 10 is provided with: a solid-liquid separation unit 12 in which the object to be treated containing the crushed material K of garbage and waste water is subjected to solid-liquid separation using the filtration action of a filtration screen 16; and the drying chamber 26 which is the conveying destination of the crushed material K of garbage being the solid content separated by the filtration screen 16 and is used for drying the crushed material K of garbage. A solid-liquid separation chamber is divided by the filtration screen 16 into a primary-side space 32 into which the object to be treated is made to flow and which is formed on the filtration surface side of the filtration screen 16, and a secondary-side space 34 for dropping the waste water separated by the filtration action of the filtration screen. The exhaust gas from the drying chamber 26 is discharged to the primary-side space 32.
