To provide a garbage treatment apparatus to be used in a kitchen which can directly heat water contained in garbage, etc., to remove it efficiently.
In a garbage treatment apparatus, garbage is decomposed by microorganisms, and a microwave generator 3 which emits. microwaves to a garbage decomposition room 2 is installed. The generator 3 can be fixed on the inner surface of the inlet lid 4 of a casing 1 equipped with the decomposition room 2. In this case, the generator 3 can be actuated by the closure of the lid 4, or the agitator 5 of the room 2 is operated simultaneously. For example, a provisional receiver 11 is placed at a position below the lid 4 to be irradiated with microwaves and the room 2 is arranged under the receiver 11, or the receiver 11 is set below the lid 4 and the room 2 is arranged under the receiver 11, and then the bottom lid 12 of the receiver 11 is made to open downward.
