PURPOSE: To perform a continuous microbial treatment of garbage by adding and mixing garbage with a culture medium consisting mainly of charcoal particles with a specified grain size when garbage is microbially treated using mainly aerobic and anaeronic bacteria.

CONSTITUTION: When microbially treating garbage mainly with the help of aerobic and anaeronic bacteria, garbage is added and mixed on a culture medium consisting mainly of charcoal particles with a grain size of 1 to 10mm. In addition, alternatively a porous material which is harder than the charcoal and ranges from 5 to 10mm in grain size may also be present in the culture medium. Further, the garbage can be added and mixed on the culture medium consisting of charcoal which contains mainly aerobic and anaerobic bacteria previously in the micropores. Thus it is possible to treat the garbage with the help of microbes without generating stench. In addition, the garbage can be treated continuously because the culture medium is easily maintained under an environment best suited for the proliferation of the aerobic and anaerobic bacteria.
