To provide a garnish mounting device by which at least one of reduction of cost, improvement of service performance and contraction of cross-section shape of the garnish can be achieved compared to a tether clip.

The garnish mounting device 10 for a front piller in which a garnish 11 incorporating a curtain airbag 15 inside is mounted to a body member 12 includes: a scatter prevention unit 13 which prevents scattering of the garnish 11 instead of the tether clip 3 when the curtain airbag opens, and which is integrated with the garnish 11; and a standard clip 14 which is fixed to the garnish 11 to the body component 12 before the curtain airbag opens and which is formed separately from the garanish 11 and fixed to the garnish 11. The scatter prevention unit 13 is lower-cost and more serviceable and in addition, the cross-section shape of garnish is contracted compared to the tether clip 3, and thereby the challenge(s) can be achieved.
