Title:
GAS-BARRIER POLYPROPYLENE THIN FILM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3841507
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve gas-barrier properties not only to water vapor but also to oxygen by forming a thin film which is formed from inorganic oxide and in which the surface roughness and the average particle size of constituting particles are specified at least on one side of a biaxially oriented polypropylene film.
SOLUTION: At least on one side of a biaxially oriented polypropylene film, a thin film of inorganic oxide is formed, and its surface roughness Rms is 3.5nm or less, especially preferably 2.0nm of less. The average particle size of particles constituting the formed thin film is 20nm or less. The polypropylene film can be treated by corona discharge, flame, plasma, anchor coat, etc. As the inorganic oxide which forms a gas-barrier thin film, silicon oxide and aluminum oxide are preferable since they have good gas-barrier properties to oxygen and water vapor and transparency and are industrially less expensive.
