Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain pressure resistant performance, excellent against repeated shocks with a light weight, by a method wherein a gas bomb is provided with an inner shell, having gas barrier property, and a pressure resistant outer shell, provided so as to cover the inner shell, while the outer shell is constituted of FRP, containing reinforcing fibers, having the specified values of tensile elasticity and tensile breaking strain or more, and resin.
CONSTITUTION: A gas bomb is provided with an inner shell, having gas barrier property, and a pressure resistant outer shell 2, provided so as to cover the inner shell 1. The inner shell 1 is constituted of a metal, a resin or FRP. On the other hand, the outer shell 2 is constituted of FRP containing reinforcing fibers, having a tensile elasticity of 40GPa or more and a tensile breaking strain of 1.5% or more. When the tensile elasticity is less than 40GPa, the amount of deformation upon receiving a shock is too much and, therefore, the inner shell 1 is damaged and there is a possibility of leakage of gas. Further, when the tensile breaking strain is less than 1.5%, the possibility of leakage of gas or breakage is generated upon receiving repeated shocks when shock is added to the same site even though a damage due to the initial shock is slight.
